Very recently 82 anxious and enthusiastic IHTTI students from around the world walked together through the city of Neuchâtel dressed in their formal graduation gowns, with their proud parents, teachers and staff in tow to the Neuchâtel house of parliament. Steeped in over 700 years of tradition, the graduation ceremony for the BA in International Hospitality and Design Management took place in Switzerland’s oldest civil building, once the residence of the lords and counts of Neuchâtel. The official ceremony included speeches from the cantonal government authorities, the programme heads of IHTTI and those of its academic partner, the University of Derby, ranked Number 1 in Hospitality, Event and Tourism Management in the UK.

Numerous awards and prizes were offered by Mauler, Omega and Nestlé, IHTTI’s prestigious corporate partners, to reward the schools high performers for outstanding individual achievement during the three year intense study programme. Jaco von Wielligh, IHTTI’s Academic Director believes the revised curriculum of the Hospitality and Design BA programme which focuses more on individual leadership approaches and student development, has really made all the difference.

After the ceremony the students and their families enjoyed cocktails and a fine dining experience complete with entertainment that included their very own original version of Pharell Williams planetary hit "Happy", performed by fellow students, followed by an unforgettable night out partying in the town.
