This year’s QS World University Rankings have highlighted another strong year for Swiss hospitality, despite an increasingly competitive global market.
The top hospitality schools in the world are Swiss, a testament to the country’s long tradition of excellence in hospitality and culinary education and commitment to innovation in today’s dynamic, rapidly evolving world.
“The 2020 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject offers compelling evidence that Switzerland’s higher education system can be regarded as continental Europe’s best. Despite having far fewer ranked programmes than the systems in Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands, it has more top-10 programmes than any of these nations. No continental European nation possesses such a high concentration of world-class educational departments,” Ben Sowter, Director of Research at QS
Swiss Education Group, the largest private hospitality education group in Switzerland, has all five of its schools ranked in the national top ten. SHMS Swiss Hotel Management School moved from 7th to 5th in the worldwide rankings, and César Ritz Colleges Switzerland climbed three places to 13th in the global tables. Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland achieved the distinction of the number one culinary school in the world, reflecting the superb quality of its teaching and facilities.
Swiss Education Group welcomes students from over 110 countries across the world to learn from their expert faculty. Their six campuses are known for their picturesque natural locations and state-of-the-art facilities as well as its multi-cultural and engaging social atmosphere.
The QS World University Rankings give methodical, neutral, and well-researched evaluations of higher education institutions. Since 2017, the Hospitality and Leisure subject ranking has compared over 1,000 institutions across the world to find the very best in hospitality education. Swiss Education Group prides itself in working closely with leading industry partners to develop and deliver world-class education to over 6,000 students, and their high QS rankings across all five schools reflect this commitment to excellence.
Swiss Education Group schools offer a wide range of courses, including short certificates, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, allowing students to choose programmes that suit their individual learning needs and interests.
“We are pleased to be highly recognised in QS rankings. As a global leader in hospitality and culinary education, we will continuously look for opportunities to deliver superb value and experiences to our students and industry partners,” Mr. Ronan Fitzgerald, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of Swiss Education Group

The QS World University Rankings is the most-widely read university rankings in the world.
The QS World University Rankings portfolio, inaugurated in 2004, has grown to become the world’s most popular source of comparative data about university performance.
