Over the past few years there has been an increasing interest from the Scandinavian region for students interested in learning the “Swiss Hospitality Touch” in an international environment. Today there are over 1000 graduates from the region working and acting as ambassadors for Swiss education and culture in their homelands. A great example is within moments of stepping into the contemporary luxury Nobis Hotel in Stockholm, Mr. Benoit Samson, SEG Chief Marketing & Brand Officer was given a wonderful reception and to his delight learned that the current General Manager of the hotel is IHTTI School of Hotel Management graduate, Mr. Andreas Cavallius.

Building Relations in Norway

Mr Benoit Samson met with Dr. Rudolf Knoblauch, Swiss Ambassador to Norway over lunch on November 24th to discuss the growing hospitality market in Norway and the need for more trained professionals. The Swiss Education Group is actively working together with the Swiss Embassy in Norway, our Norwegian alumni and the local industry to set up a collaborative effort to support the growing industry.

SEG Growth in Sweden

On November 25th, a lunch was organized with Mr. Gérald Délèze, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland in Sweden and Mrs Jeanette Johansson, Key Account Manager, Nordic Countries for Switzerland Tourism. Cooperation with the Embassy and Switzerland Tourism has been established to promote and support international students from Sweden to study in Switzerland. Discussions have begun to organise an official alumni reunion on site at the Swiss Ambassador’s residence in Stockholm in 2015 with the support of the two organisations.

The Swiss Education Group is committed to building relationships with government agencies and ministries around the world to ensure that Switzerland is recognised as a world leader in hospitality education and a strong partner for international collaboration. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our friendship with the Scandinavian countries and welcoming more students to study in Switzerland.
