Anticipation was at an all time high, as students had been preparing for the event weeks in advance working feverishly on their costumes, rehearsing their performances, coordinating a multitude of ethnic menus, preparing food and venues. The event kicked off with an aperitif in the Grand Hall where invited guests got an initial taste of the diversity and richness of the events to follow. Before serving a multitude of culinary delights, the students put on a unique song and dance performance highlighting culture, dance and musical tradition from across Asia, Africa and Europe. The guests were particularly enchanted by the Chinese teams show, leaving everyone wondering whether the young women were professional dancers as the level of synchronicity within the group was phenomenal. Equally as enthralling was the Ode to Mandiba, the African teams singing created shivers of emotion throughout the theatre.

Needless to say, everyone already looking forward to the next year’s event and its new surprises.
