Banqueting and events are an important part second year studies at Swiss Hotel Management School and what better way to learn than from professionals working in the hospitality industry! Anne-Christine Fiechter, second year student at Swiss Hotel Management School, recently spent time at the Montreux Palace and reports on her experience.

"Mr Fouque, Assistant F&B Director, showed us around in the hotel, explaining the planning and organizing process of events held at the hotel. Later we had the opportunity to observe an actual event and I was especially interested in the collaboration between the service and kitchen team, as well as in the service itself.

It was a great experience because by observing professionals we got a lot of good ideas for our own banquet and realized the issues we could encounter and observed ways to overcome them.

I am very glad we had this amazing opportunity and I think it is great that our hotel school is establishing a closer relationship with the industry. It was very helpful for us regarding our own upcoming event."
